Accessibility

Accessibility Statement

At Ohana Private Charters, we are committed to providing an enjoyable and inclusive private charter experience for all guests. Our vessel has been designed with features to support individuals with limited mobility, families, seniors, and those with specific accessibility needs. While there are some structural limitations, our crew are dedicated to providing assistance wherever possible to ensure comfort and safety on board.

Mobility & Boarding Support

  • Our experienced crew are available to assist with transfers, boarding, and moving safely around the vessel.

  • Ohana is fitted with non-slip cork flooring throughout and strategically placed handrails to support balance and movement.

  • The vessel’s amphibious hydraulic system lowers for boarding, making access easier at departure points.

  • Please note: There is one small (5cm) step into the cabin toilets and two steps up to the main deck. These features currently make the vessel unsuitable for wheelchair users.

Families with Children

  • Families with children are welcome on Ohana.

  • We provide life jackets and appropriate safety equipment for all children - please notify us in advance of their ages and requirements so we can prepare accordingly.

  • For safety and comfort, children must be able to remain seated for short periods of time while the vessel is underway.

  • The charter is not recommended for children with severe autism spectrum disorder, due to the confined deck space and occasional loud noises.

Sensory & Hearing Support

  • We provide headphones for guests with hearing impairments to ensure commentary and music can be enjoyed clearly.

  • Crew are available to provide additional explanations or communication support for guests with vision or hearing needs.

Older Guests & Health Considerations

  • Guests with walking or orthopaedic difficulties, or those of advanced age, are welcome.

  • The charter requires minimal walking, and our crew are on hand to assist with transfers and balance support.

Assistance Animals & Companions

  • Guide dogs and accredited assistance animals are welcome onboard.

  • Carers and companions with valid Companion Cards are also welcome and supported during the charter.

Dietary Requirements

  • If you choose to add catering, our in-house chef can accommodate most dietary requirements with prior notice (e.g. vegetarian, gluten-free, allergies).

Wheelchair Accessibility

  • Unfortunately, at this stage Ohana is not wheelchair friendly due to the requirement of over-water transfers and a stepped boat/cabin toilet.

Web Accessibility

  • We are committed to making our website user-friendly and accessible. If you experience any difficulty using or navigating the site, or notice any content that is not fully accessible, please contact us and we will be happy to provide assistance.

Contact Us

If you have specific accessibility requirements, we encourage you to contact us before booking so we can discuss your needs and ensure the best possible experience.
